Bytespark.ai is seeking a meticulous and technically proficient Senior Accountant on behalf of our client, a leading firm in the UAE's regulated financial services sector. This key role involves managing accurate financial records, leading month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting in compliance with IFRS. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties including accounts payable/receivable, VAT and corporate tax submissions, and supporting external audits. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and hands-on experience within a regulated finance environment. This is a hands-on, execution-focused position with a clear career progression path to Finance Manager for a high-performing individual. Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 4–6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a regulated financial services environment.
3. Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CMA).
4. Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
5. Hands-on experience with UAE VAT return preparation and submission, and familiarity with UAE Corporate Tax.
6. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
7. Proven experience in managing month-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
8. Experience supporting annual external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to queries.
Desirable
1. Experience working within a DIFC or ADGM regulated financial services firm.
2. Familiarity with financial regulatory reporting for DFSA, SCA, or ADGM.
3. Exposure to fund accounting or asset management finance.
4. Experience with treasury and cash flow forecasting.
5. Knowledge of Islamic finance accounting standards (AAOIFI).
