Field Operator I - NH3 (Ammonia)

Join NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) as an Ammonia Field Operator and play a pivotal role in building the world's largest green ammonia plant. Based in NEOM, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day field operations of our state-of-the-art NH3 production unit, storage facilities, and ship loading processes. Reporting to the NH3 Plant Manager, you will conduct routine rounds, monitor equipment, apply safety protocols like LOTO, and support maintenance activities. This role requires a strong commitment to our 'Safety First' culture to achieve zero lost-time injuries. You will collaborate closely with control room operators, maintenance teams, and contractors to ensure plant reliability and meet production goals. As a key member of the GH2 Operations team, you will also contribute to emergency response, plant startups, and shutdowns, working on a rotating shift schedule to support our 24/7 operations launching in 2026. Be part of a pioneering joint-venture accelerating the global green hydrogen economy.

Requirements

1. High school diploma in a technical discipline or equivalent.

2. Minimum of 3 years of field operation experience in industrial gas, chemical, refining, or a related industry.

3. Demonstrated experience in applying Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for equipment isolation.

4. Proven ability to read and interpret technical documents, including PFDs, P&IDs, and Single Line Diagrams.

5. Experience conducting routine field inspections, recording process readings, and reporting abnormalities.

6. Hands-on experience operating manual valves, local instruments, and other field equipment.

7. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

8. Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and be on call as required.

Desirable

1. Direct operational experience in an Ammonia (NH3) production, storage, or loading facility.

2. Familiarity with ammonia loading equipment such as loading arms, vapor recovery systems, and emergency shut-off systems.

3. Experience working with permit-to-work (PTW) systems and contributing to Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).

4. Previous experience in training or mentoring junior operators.

5. Basic knowledge of product custody transfer processes and shipping documentation.
