MENA FX Market Maker

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and quantitatively adept MENA FX Market Maker to join our dynamic trading desk in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for pricing and managing a book of MENA currency foreign exchange products, including spot and forwards. The successful candidate will leverage their strong understanding of market dynamics to provide competitive pricing to clients and manage the resulting risk. You will work closely with sales, research, and other trading teams to identify market opportunities and contribute to the desk's overall profitability. This position requires rapid decision-making, exceptional mathematical skills, and a proactive approach to risk management. The role is offered at an Analyst or Associate level, contingent on the candidate's profile and strength of experience. Requirements

1. Demonstrable trading or market making experience in a FICC product within a financial institution.

2. In-depth understanding of Spot and Forward FX markets, including pricing mechanisms and key drivers.

3. Exceptional quantitative and mental arithmetic skills, with the ability to perform complex calculations quickly and accurately.

4. Successful completion of the CFA Level 1 examination or a comparable financial certification.

5. Proficiency with trading platforms such as Bloomberg Terminal or Refinitiv Eikon.

6. Strong skills in data analysis using tools like Excel/VBA, with Python or R being a plus.

7. Solid understanding of financial risk management principles and techniques.

8. Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or Economics.

Desirable

1. Direct experience in trading or making markets in MENA or other emerging market currencies.

2. Experience with FX derivatives, including swaps and options.

3. Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative discipline.

4. Programming skills for developing trading tools or models.

5. Fluency in Arabic.
