The Vienna Hilfswerk is seeking a Head of Accounting and Controlling to lead the financial and controlling operations. In this vital role, you will manage the preparation of financial statements in compliance with the Austrian Commercial Code (UGB) and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. You will lead a team of seven professionals, ensuring operational excellence in the management of home care and assistance, the department with the highest revenue. Your role will also include process optimization and participation in digitalization initiatives. Acting as the main contact for tax consultants, auditors, and authorities, you will help ensure the organization's financial integrity and compliance. Requirements

1. Proven experience in preparing and managing financial statements in compliance with the Austrian Commercial Code (UGB).

2. Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss accounting within a centralized controlling role.

3. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing an accounting and controlling team effectively.

4. Proficiency in process improvement and digitalization projects within financial management systems.

5. Advanced skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and solid IT affinity relevant for financial management.

6. Experience in acting as a liaison with tax consultants, auditors, and governmental authorities.

Desirable

1. A business degree with a specialization in controlling or accounting.

2. Experience working in non-profit organizations or health service companies.

3. Exceptional communication and social skills to facilitate collaboration across disciplines.
