About the role
byteSpark.ai is supporting a leading FMCG client in the search for a dynamic and forward-thinking Financial Controller based in Dubai, UAE. This pivotal role will hold full responsibility for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Internal Controls, financial reporting, and statutory compliance across the finance function. The successful candidate will lead a large and diverse team, ensure adherence to IFRS and UAE regulatory requirements, oversee audits, strengthen financial controls, and deliver board-level reporting, cash-flow forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic insights to support key business decisions. The role requires an inspiring and commercially minded finance leader who can optimize ERP and business intelligence systems, champion automation and process improvement, develop finance talent, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Controlling or Finance roles.
- Proven ability to lead and develop large finance teams of 30–40+ professionals.
- Strong experience within the FMCG sector, preferably in the UAE or wider GCC market.
- Expert-level knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Hands-on experience managing UAE statutory requirements, including VAT, Corporate Tax, and regulatory filings.
- Demonstrated experience managing external audits and relationships with regulatory authorities.
- Proficiency in optimizing ERP systems, business intelligence tools, and financial planning platforms.
- Strong background in preparing and presenting board-level financial reports, cash-flow forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Desirable skills
- MBA or a professional certification such as CMA, CPA, or ACCA.
- Significant experience in the Saudi Arabian or wider MENAP market.
- Experience leading automation, digitalization, or AI adoption projects within a finance function.
- Track record of developing local talent and supporting Emiratization initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
