Description
We are seeking a Director of Energy Technology Strategy to spearhead our technological vision across the energy value chain from our Dubai headquarters. This executive role is pivotal, sitting at the intersection of business strategy, digital platforms, and operational technology. The successful candidate will define, own, and execute the enterprise-level technology strategy that underpins all energy operations, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives. You will be responsible for evaluating and governing digital platforms, leading initiatives in data, analytics, and automation to drive efficiency and performance. As the senior interface between leadership, operations, and technology partners, you will establish governance, architectural principles, and investment roadmaps. This is a high-trust, autonomous role with full ownership of technology direction, focused on strategy and value realisation, not just project delivery. We are looking for a strategic thinker with deep domain expertise and the ability to translate complex business problems into actionable technology solutions.
Requirements
1. 8-10 years of experience in the energy, oil & gas, or industrial sectors with a strong technology focus.
2. Proven experience defining and owning enterprise-level technology strategy.
3. Expertise in evaluating, selecting, and governing digital platforms across upstream, midstream, and downstream environments.
4. Demonstrated leadership of initiatives in industrial systems (OT), data platforms, analytics, or AI.
5. Experience translating business and operational objectives into technology roadmaps and investment plans.
6. Strong knowledge of establishing technology governance, architectural principles, and security frameworks.
7. Experience acting as the senior technology interface with C-level executives, operations leadership, and IT.
8. Deep understanding of how to drive technology-enabled efficiency, reliability, and performance in energy operations.
Desirable
1. Background in large energy operators (IOCs/NOCs), major service companies, or industrial technology providers.
2. Strong commercial acumen and operational awareness within the energy sector.
3. Executive-level communication, presentation, and stakeholder influence skills.
4. Experience providing executive insight on emerging technologies relevant to the energy industry.
5. Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, accountability, and comfort with ambiguity.
