Description
Our client Americana is seeking a dynamic Director of Agriculture Operations to spearhead the end-to-end agricultural strategy for Americana Egypt's Nubaria and Salhia Farms. This senior leadership role is pivotal in driving the cultivation, procurement, and commercial success of our strawberry and core vegetable crops. You will be responsible for a multi-million dollar P&L, leading a diverse workforce of over 5,000, and managing a complex network of suppliers. The ideal candidate will leverage deep agronomic expertise and strong commercial acumen to optimize yields, ensure operational excellence, and achieve significant financial targets. This position requires a strategic leader adept at managing large-scale operations and fostering innovation in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: EGP 300k to 320k Gross
Additional monthly transportation allowance on top of 35K EGP Gross
Bonus: 2 months base salary on target
Requirements
1. 20-25 years in commercial agriculture, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
2. Proven expertise in commercial-scale cultivation and procurement of strawberries or other high-value berry crops.
3. Demonstrated experience managing a substantial P&L (e.g., $10M) and developing Annual Operating Plans (AOP) in an agricultural setting.
4. Experience leading large-scale operations, including direct management of 100+ internal staff and oversight of 5000+ outsourced personnel.
5. Expertise in building and managing extensive supplier networks for agricultural inputs and produce.
6. In-depth knowledge of modern agronomy, including precision agriculture, soil health, and pest management.
7. Experience in Spot purchasing to meet annual tonnage requirements
Desirable
1. Experience with regenerative and climate-smart agricultural practices.
2. Familiarity with agri-tech digital tools and ERP/SCM systems.
3. Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
