Project Manager - Automation

We are seeking a results-driven Automation Project Manager to lead and execute critical automation projects within our dynamic food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will leverage their 3 to 5 years of experience to manage the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to commissioning and handover. This role requires a strong technical background in industrial automation, specifically with SCADA systems and the application of ISA-88 standards for batch process control. You will be responsible for defining project scope, managing budgets and timelines, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring all solutions comply with food safety and quality regulations. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving efficiency, improving process control, and implementing state-of-the-art automation technologies that support our production goals. Success in this position means delivering robust, reliable, and compliant automation solutions on time and within budget.

Requirements

1. 3-5 years of project management experience in an industrial automation setting.

2. Demonstrated experience managing projects in the food and beverage or a similar regulated manufacturing industry.

3. Proven experience with SCADA systems (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View) implementation and upgrades.

4. Strong understanding and practical application of the ISA-88 standard for batch control.

5. Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).

6. Experience with PLC and HMI programming concepts and hardware (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens).

7. Experience in managing project budgets, schedules, resources, and risk mitigation.

8. Excellent vendor and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

1. PMP or other project management certification.

2. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical) or a related technical field.

3. Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and their integration with SCADA systems.

4. Knowledge of food processing equipment and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

5. Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies like Lean Six Sigma.
