Senior Vice President – Retail Expansion & P&L

We are seeking an experienced Senior Vice President – Retail Expansion & P&L who will lead the strategic growth and performance of our shopping-centre and specialty retail portfolio in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role involves overseeing new mall development, spearheading strategic leasing initiatives, and ensuring successful operational execution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving rental yield improvements, enhancing retail sales densities, and delivering above-market returns on retail assets. Reporting to the REIT CEO, the position includes asset acquisition, tenant mix optimization, and fostering tenant profitability, all while embedding sustainability and innovation into asset operations as part of long-term value creation. This challenging role also requires successful management of mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures to support portfolio growth.

Requirements

1. Minimum 15 years of experience in retail real estate development and leasing, including involvement in at least 3 mall launches or large-scale repositionings specifically in the MENA region.

2. Demonstrated success in achieving leasing targets and driving NOI uplift of greater than 10%.

3. Strong regional network with Tier-1 anchor brands and expertise in structuring complex leases.

4. Proven ability to lead M&A, joint venture structuring, and asset exit transactions.

5. Strong analytical and commercial skills, including expertise in preparing investment cases and delivering presentations to boards.

6. Experience in leading project lifecycles from concept design to successful operational launch, ensuring alignment with budgetary and timeline goals.

Desirable

1. MBA or CFA Level 1 certification.

2. Proficiency in additional languages such as Arabic or Hindi/Urdu.

3. Experience with implementing smart building technologies and sustainability initiatives within commercial assets.
