Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, particularly in HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting works. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the execution, coordination, and delivery of mechanical services for complex projects, including luxury residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the execution of mechanical MEP works, including HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
Review and validate mechanical design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals for compliance with project specifications.
Ensure all installations are carried out according to approved drawings, local codes, and international standards.
Coordinate with civil, electrical, and architectural teams to resolve design clashes and ensure integrated service delivery.
Supervise site engineers and subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and timeline standards.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and relevant codes such as ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, and SMACNA.
Liaise with design teams to identify and implement value engineering solutions to optimize cost and efficiency.
Prepare and monitor project schedules, ensuring timely and quality completion of mechanical works.
Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including RFIs, progress reports, inspection reports, and submittals.
Enforce QA/QC procedures and manage inspections as per the project’s Inspection Test Plan (ITP).
Oversee testing, commissioning, and balancing of mechanical systems.
Coordinate with consultants and authorities to obtain final approvals and handover certifications.
Prepare as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and comprehensive handover documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
Support estimation, budgeting, and procurement activities related to mechanical MEP works.
Represent the company in meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers and site teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage).
10–15 years of experience in MEP engineering, with a strong focus on mechanical systems.
Proven track record in luxury villas, hotels, high-rise buildings, and industrial projects.
Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting system design, coordination, and execution.
Strong leadership and project management skills with a focus on MEP integration.
Certification as a Mechanical Engineer is preferred.
Additional certifications such as LEED, PMP, or MEP-specific credentials are a plus.
In-depth knowledge of international and local codes: ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, SMACNA, etc.
Proficient in AutoCAD, HAP, Duct Sizer, Pipe Sizer, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with Revit MEP, Primavera P6, and MS Project is an advantage.
Strong communication and coordination skills for stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
1. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in MEP engineering, including design and installation.
2. Expertise in HVAC systems, plumbing and firefighting works for luxury properties, with a proven aptitude for optimizing performance and energy efficiency.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems, particularly in the context of high-end development projects.
4. Strong mechanical engineering expertise applicable to MEP projects and problem-solving within multidisciplinary teams.
5. Proven ability to manage and lead large-scale MEP projects effectively, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
6. Familiarity with codes, regulations, and industry best practices related to MEP engineering for luxury properties.
Desirable
1. Experience with sustainable engineering practices, including energy-efficient or green technologies.
2. Advanced proficiency in relevant tools and software used for MEP systems design and analysis (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HAP).
3. A relevant professional certification, such as LEED Accreditation or a PE License.
