We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Computer Department to lead our team in Ruwais, Western Region of Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic leadership, planning, and delivery of an innovative computer science curriculum across all school levels. This role involves ensuring the integrity of assessments, fostering the professional development of teaching staff, and championing progressive teaching practices. You will drive departmental alignment with the school's overarching educational goals, managing resources effectively and maintaining strong communication with all stakeholders. As a key academic leader, you will cultivate a culture of excellence and curiosity, preparing students for future success in a technologically evolving world. This position requires a visionary educator with a passion for computer science and a proven ability to inspire both students and colleagues in a diverse, multicultural educational environment.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
2. A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
3. Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, including both teaching and academic leadership roles.
4. Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation for computer science.
5. Proficiency in educational technology, modern programming languages, and pedagogical tools relevant to a K-12 setting.
6. Proven ability in leading, mentoring, and developing a team of teachers.
7. Experience with various assessment methodologies and using data analysis to inform instructional strategy.
8. Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in computer science education.
Desirable
1. Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
2. Administrative or leadership certification.
3. Experience working within the UAE or a similar international education context.
4. Demonstrable experience in managing departmental budgets and strategic planning.
5. High level of cultural awareness and experience in a multicultural school community.
