We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Matron to lead the clinical team at our esteemed nursing home. As the clinical figurehead, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional, person-centred care to all our residents. You will lead, inspire, and manage our multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and clinical excellence. Your role will involve overseeing all aspects of clinical governance, quality assurance, and compliance with all UK healthcare regulations, including CQC standards. With a deep understanding of the needs of the elderly, you will ensure our care practices are evidence-based and of the highest quality. This strategic leadership position requires a clinically proficient and commercially astute individual committed to upholding our values and enhancing the lives of our residents. Your expertise will be pivotal in maintaining our reputation for outstanding care within the community.
Requirements
1. Active and unrestricted registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as an RGN or RMN.
2. A minimum of 10 years' post-registration experience working within a nursing home environment.
3. Proven experience in a senior clinical leadership role (e.g., Matron, Clinical Lead, Head of Care).
4. In-depth, demonstrable knowledge of the UK healthcare framework, including CQC regulations and KLOEs.
5. Extensive experience in leading clinical governance, quality assurance processes, and clinical audits.
6. Strong experience in staff management, including recruitment, supervision, appraisal, and development of a clinical team.
7. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
8. Proficiency in care planning, risk assessment, and medication management.
Desirable
1. A recognised leadership or management qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management).
2. Proven track record of achieving 'Good' or 'Outstanding' CQC ratings.
3. Specialist clinical knowledge in areas such as dementia or palliative care.
4. Experience with budget management and financial oversight within a care setting.
5. Proficiency with electronic care planning and eMAR systems.
