About the role
A client of byteSpark.ai is seeking an experienced Senior Delivery / Project Manager to lead critical initiatives within our Digital Core Banking division. In this dynamic role, you will operate in a hybrid Agile environment, adeptly balancing the responsibilities of a Delivery Manager, Project Manager, and Scrum Master to guide projects to successful completion. You will be the central point of coordination, ensuring milestones and dependencies are transparent to all stakeholders, including product owners, technology teams, and executive management. Your leadership will be crucial in facilitating project ceremonies, managing relationships with internal partners and external vendors, and proactively resolving impediments. You will structure and manage the demand flow into our technology teams, coordinating the end-to-end process from planning and delivery to deployment and release. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational skills to drive the evolution of our core banking functionalities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in project management, delivery management, or a similar role within a large, complex organization.
- Demonstrated experience managing the full lifecycle of complex technology projects with multiple dependencies.
- Expertise in hybrid and traditional project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
- Proven ability to manage relationships and communications with diverse internal stakeholders (business, technology, operations) and external vendors.
- Strong experience in structuring and managing demand intake, prioritizing requirements, and resource alignment.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Demonstrated skill in risk management, issue resolution, and proactive impediment removal.
- Experience coordinating complex, multi-team software deployment and release activities.
Desirable skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in the banking or financial services industry, particularly with Core Banking systems.
- Relevant project management or Agile certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, ACP).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and change management skills.
- Experience leading teams through Agile transformations or process improvements.

This role offers the opportunity to lead critical initiatives at the centre of a Digital Core Banking transformation. The successful candidate will coordinate complex technology delivery across product, engineering, operations, management, and external partners while directly influencing how new banking capabilities are planned, delivered, and released.
It deliberately combines both responsibilities. The successful candidate will operate in a hybrid delivery environment, applying formal project-management discipline while also facilitating Agile ceremonies, coaching teams, removing impediments, managing dependencies, and adapting the delivery approach to the needs of each initiative.
The strongest candidates will have at least 10 years of project or delivery-management experience in a large, complex organisation. Evidence of managing multi-team technology programmes, internal and external stakeholders, demand intake, competing priorities, risks, vendors, deployments, and releases will be particularly important. Core Banking or wider financial-services experience would be a strong advantage.
