We are seeking a distinguished Managing Director to lead our Investment Banking Division (IBD) for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for driving the strategic direction, business development, and overall success of our investment banking practice in this key market. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive network and deep transactional expertise to originate and execute high-profile mandates, including M&A, equity, and debt financing. You will lead a high-performing team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of excellence. This position demands a visionary leader capable of navigating complex market dynamics, managing key client relationships at the highest level, and ensuring the division's sustained growth and profitability.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in investment banking.
3. Proven track record of originating and successfully closing complex transactions (M&A, IPOs, Private Placements) in the MENA region.
4. Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role, managing and developing investment banking teams.
5. Extensive network of C-level contacts with corporates, financial sponsors, and government entities across the MENA region.
6. Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence processes.
7. Expert knowledge of the financial markets, instruments, and regulatory landscape specific to the MENA region.
8. Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and strategic thinking skills.
Desirable
1. MBA or equivalent advanced degree (e.g., CFA charterholder).
2. Fluency in Arabic.
3. Specialized sector expertise relevant to the MENA economy (e.g., Energy, Real Estate, Technology, Financial Services).
4. Experience managing a divisional P&L.
5. Cross-border transaction experience involving MENA entities.
