A client of byteSpark.ai is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead the HR function for a high-growth start-up. This role offers a unique opportunity to build the HR framework from the ground up and align human resources strategies with the company’s ambitious growth trajectory. The CHRO will work closely with the CEO and executive team to drive organizational transformation, scale teams, and implement innovative HR practices that support long-term business goals. The CHRO will be responsible for developing comprehensive HR strategies, leading talent acquisition and leadership development initiatives, and overseeing HR operations across multiple regions, with a particular focus on compliance in UAE, Oman, and KSA. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of employment laws in these regions, along with experience in implementing HR systems and technologies that enhance operational efficiency and employee engagement. This is a senior leadership position where the CHRO will manage HR budgets, lead large multinational teams, and drive change management processes to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance. The CHRO will also spearhead the roll-out of new HRMS technologies across the organization, working closely with vendors to ensure seamless implementation across the HR spectrum, including recruitment, onboarding, and payroll. Please note: This role is contingent upon the completion of the company’s current funding round. Compensation: Competitive salary with additional benefits, commensurate with experience. Key Responsibilities HR Strategy & Leadership: Lead the development and execution of HR strategies that align with business growth and organizational objectives. Talent Acquisition & Development: Oversee all talent acquisition efforts, focusing on building a robust leadership pipeline and scaling teams in line with company expansion plans. Cultural Building & Change Management: Create and nurture a positive company culture that promotes innovation, collaboration, and employee well-being. Lead change management initiatives to support the start-up’s evolving needs. HR Operations & Compliance: Establish scalable HR processes and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, particularly across multiple regions. Collaboration with Executive Leadership: Work closely with the CEO and other C-suite executives to develop HR policies that drive business growth and meet strategic objectives. Employee Experience & Retention: Design and implement programs to improve employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and values.
Requirements
1. 10+ years of senior HR leadership experience, ideally as a CHRO or VP of HR in a high-growth company.
2. Proven track record of building and scaling HR functions from early-stage to growth-stage businesses.
3. Expertise in employment law compliance in UAE, Oman, and KSA.
4. Strong experience in HRMS implementation, including collaborating with vendors to roll out new HR technologies.
5. Demonstrated ability to manage HR budgets and oversee financial planning for HR initiatives.
6. Experience leading multinational HR teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration and alignment.
7. Excellent strategic, leadership, and communication skills, with a proven ability to align HR strategies with business growth.
Desirable
1. Experience in M&A or post-funding HR restructuring.
2. SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or other advanced HR certifications.
3. Familiarity with HRIS systems, workforce planning, and data-driven HR decision-making.
4. Proven ability to lead HR functions across multiple regions, ensuring global HR compliance.
5. Experience in scaling HR processes during rapid company growth or funding rounds.
