Unified Communications Specialist

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Unified Communications Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a profound knowledge of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and a proven track record in designing, deploying, and managing unified communication platforms. Responsibilities include developing and implementing UC strategies, managing VoIP and SIP-based applications, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance of communication systems, and providing technical support for complex issues related to unified communications. The role demands a professional who can innovate and maintain high-quality communication solutions that meet the business needs.

Requirements

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in SIP technologies.

2. Strong understanding of VoIP protocols, including SIP, SDP (Session Description Protocol), and RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol).

3. Proven experience in configuring and troubleshooting VoIP equipment and software.

4. Experience with Unified Communications platforms such as Cisco, Avaya, or Microsoft Skype for Business/Lync.

5. Solid understanding of network configurations including firewalls, routing, and switching as it pertains to VoIP communications.

6. Knowledge of QoS (Quality of Service) and its application in prioritizing voice traffic over networks.

Desirable

1. Certifications in relevant fields (e.g., CCNP Collaboration, Avaya Professional Design Specialist).

2. Experience in integrating video conferencing and mobile communications into a unified communications strategy.

3. Familiarity with cloud-based VoIP solutions.
