DATA GOVERNANCE ANALYST

Description

We are seeking a meticulous and collaborative Data Governance Analyst to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping our data-driven culture. In this position, you will be responsible for establishing and operationalizing our enterprise data governance framework. Your core duties will involve creating and maintaining data policies, standards, and processes to ensure data is managed as a critical asset. You will work across business and technical teams to standardize Key Data Elements (KDEs), manage our metadata repository, and implement a robust data quality framework. This role requires a blend of technical acumen and strong communication skills to translate complex data concepts into business-friendly language. By monitoring data quality and ensuring compliance, you will empower the organization to trust and leverage its data for strategic decision-making. Your efforts will be fundamental in enhancing data literacy, mitigating risk, and maximizing the value of our information assets.

Requirements

1. Proven experience in creating, maintaining, and managing data policies, standards, and processes.

2. Demonstrated ability to apply data governance frameworks, particularly DAMA-DMBOK, in a practical setting.

3. Hands-on experience in setting up and operating a Data Quality Framework, including defining rules, thresholds, and monitoring dashboards.

4. Proficiency in metadata management, including building and maintaining business glossaries, data catalogs, and end-to-end data lineage.

5. Strong SQL skills for data analysis, profiling, and validation of data quality.

6. Experience with enterprise Data Governance platforms, with a strong preference for Collibra.

7. Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (conceptual/logical) and their application.

8. Experience in data classification, data privacy practices, and supporting compliance with relevant regulations.

Desirable

1. Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP).

2. Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to influence without authority.

3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a talent for identifying the root cause of data issues.

4. Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex data topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

5. Experience in project management or leading data-related initiatives.
