We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Operations to lead and oversee all operational functions of our large-scale hospital. The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of senior leadership experience within a complex hospital environment, demonstrating a profound ability to drive operational excellence and efficiency. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans, managing substantial budgets, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. The Director will lead large, multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include ensuring strict compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing operational workflows. This executive will play a pivotal role in shaping the hospital's future, ensuring financial sustainability and exceptional service delivery.
Requirements
1. Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of progressive operations management experience in a senior leadership role.
3. Direct experience managing operations within a large-scale hospital (200+ beds).
4. Proven expertise in financial management, including budgeting, P&L oversight, and cost control for large operational budgets.
5. In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, including The Joint Commission (TJC), HIPAA, and state/federal laws.
6. Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic operational plans that align with organizational goals.
7. Proficiency with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
8. Experience in leading large, diverse, and multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable
1. Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) certification.
2. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification.
3. Experience in a unionized hospital environment.
4. Proven ability to lead large-scale change management and process improvement initiatives.
5. Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
