Hardware & Asset Management Engineer
Description
We are seeking an experienced Hardware & Asset Management Engineer to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of all ICT infrastructure assets within our dynamic sports and entertainment venues. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of technologies, including Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), cloud platforms, CCTV systems, and core network services. Your primary objective will be to ensure the operational readiness, compliance, and high availability of all hardware, particularly during high-pressure live events. You will manage everything from procurement and deployment to maintenance and eventual retirement, maintaining meticulous records within our ITAM systems. This position requires hands-on technical expertise, strategic asset planning, and close collaboration with ICT, security, and venue operations teams to support seamless event execution. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, leveraging their deep knowledge of ITAM tools and processes to drive efficiency and uphold our standards for infrastructure reliability.
Requirements
1. 8+ years of hands-on experience managing the lifecycle of HCI, cloud, CCTV, and core ICT infrastructure assets.
2. Demonstrated proficiency with IT Asset Management (ITAM) platforms such as ServiceNow, Matrix42, SCCM/MECM, or equivalent systems.
3. Proven experience providing Level 2 hardware support in high-pressure, live event environments.
4. In-depth knowledge of managing hardware refresh cycles, spare parts inventory, and asset disposal processes in compliance with company and environmental policies.
5. Experience in tracking and managing cloud-based assets (VMs, storage, networking) and ensuring compliance with security and cost management policies.
6. Solid understanding of Windows Server and Red Hat Linux Operating Systems, specifically for enabling ITAM tool integration and agent management.
7. Experience coordinating with procurement teams for hardware acquisition, renewals, and managing vendor relationships for warranties and repairs.
8. Strong capabilities in generating comprehensive asset reports for audits, budgeting, and compliance reviews.
Desirable
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. ITIL Foundation Certification.
3. Experience working in sports venues, broadcasting, or similar large-scale event-driven environments.
4. Strong documentation and communication abilities, with a proven track record of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
5. Familiarity with the specific hardware used in large venues, such as enterprise-grade switches, firewalls, UPS, and AV equipment.
